Presentation

Christophe Gouel is an economist working on agricultural markets as well as international trade and environmental issues. He analyzes agricultural markets and their dynamics over short- and long-term horizons. Regarding short-term dynamics, his research focuses on the economics of storable commodities, food price volatility, and policies designed to mitigate such volatility. Regarding long-term dynamics, his research focuses on climate change and its effects on agriculture, with particular attention to international trade in agricultural products and the economic modeling of these interactions.

Previously, Christophe held positions as a visiting fellow at IFPRI, a consultant at the World Bank (Development Research Group), and a part-time professor at Ecole Polytechnique. He holds a
