Julien Picard joins UMR PSAE as a Research Fellow

Since June 1, UMR PSAE has welcomed Julien Picard as a research fellow in environmental and behavioral economics.

His research focuses on food choices, prosocial behaviors, and environmentally sustainable agricultural practices. At the intersection of behavioral economics and environmental economics, he seeks to better understand the factors that motivate individuals and economic actors to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors.

To this end, Julien uses experimental methods and theoretical models to analyze the determinants of individual decisions that benefit the environment. His research also aims to assess how public environmental policies can encourage the adoption of climate-friendly practices.

More broadly, his work helps shed light on the role that economic actors—consumers, farmers, businesses, and public policymakers—can play in the ecological transition.
