Research into food today requires the simultaneous consideration of the multiple dimensions of food products. This involves using databases on French household consumption, in-store labelling and agricultural production. These databases have varying levels of granularity and use different terminologies. Furthermore, there are rarely any mapping keys to facilitate the transition from one database to another, which makes the matching process time-consuming and tedious given the volume of data to be reconciled.
