FADN offers unparalleled coverage of European agricultural holdings, yet its potential for environmental assessment remains largely untapped. Today, I will present FADN2Footprint, an R package designed to bridge FADN and LCA methods. The package derives farm-specific footprints such as greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity impacts, and water footprints, through careful allocation to products and activities, consistently across farms, regions, and production systems. To ensure comparability across farms, the package reconstruct pseudo-farms and pseudo-herds from FADN variables. A first application to the biodiversity impact of FQS illustrates the framework’s potential. Ongoing developments cover GHG emissions. Next steps include water consumption, and link with socio-economic performance indicators.
